                                   Internet Use

The Waldwick Public Library is pleased to offer Internet access to patrons as part of our mission to develop collections, resources, and services that meet the educational, cultural, recreational, and business needs of the community. The library endorses the American Library Association’s Library Bill of Rights, and the Freedom to Read Statement.  All library users are provided equal access to the resources available on the Internet.

The Internet contains a wide variety of material and opinions from varied points of view.  There is material and information on the Internet which individual patrons may find inappropriate.

Patrons are hereby notified that they are responsible for the access points they reach.  Parents of minor children must assume responsibility for their children’s use of the Internet through the library’s connection.  As with other library materials, restriction of a child’s access to the Internet is the responsibility of the parent/legal guardian.

The Internet, like all of the library’s information sources, must be shared and used in a manner which respects the rights of others.  Library personnel do not monitor or supervise Internet access except the length of time of use. Viewing of certain materials in the library may be considered improper in time, place, or manner.  The library reserves the right to end an Internet session at any time if it is creating a disturbance.

The Waldwick Public Library assumes no responsibility for any damages, direct or indirect, arising from the use of its World Wide Web server or from its connections to other Internet services.

                     Rules for Internet Terminal Use

  1. The library reserves the right to restrict sessions to 60 minutes per day.

  2.  Printing must be completed before the end of a session.

  3. Downloading of files is not available.
